Bilingo for Bilibili
Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 21, 2026
Bilingo for Bilibili ("Bilingo") is a browser extension that adds word segmentation, pinyin, and Chinese-English definitions to subtitles displayed on Bilibili video pages.
Data processed
Bilingo reads subtitle text that is visible in the Bilibili video player on the page currently open in the user's browser. The extension processes this text locally on the user's device to create word boundaries, pinyin, and definition cards.
Subtitle text is not uploaded, transmitted, sold, or shared with the developer or any third party. Bilingo does not retain subtitle text after it has been processed for display.
Bilingo does not collect or transmit:
- Bilibili passwords, cookies, tokens, or account identifiers;
- video or audio content;
- browsing history, video URLs, or video titles;
- selected vocabulary or extension usage analytics.
Local storage
Bilingo uses chrome.storage.local only to save extension
settings, including:
- whether Bilingo is enabled;
- pinyin display preferences;
- text size and background opacity; and
- pause behavior.
These settings remain on the user's device until the user resets them, clears the extension's stored data, or uninstalls the extension.
Data deletion
Users can delete locally stored settings by selecting Reset defaults in Bilingo's settings, clearing Bilingo's extension data in Chrome, or uninstalling the extension.
Data sharing and advertising
Bilingo does not sell, transfer, or share user data. It does not use user data for advertising, profiling, or analytics.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when Bilingo's functionality or data practices change. The updated policy will be published on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
